I saw the bird with the 40 ft wingspan in 2008 in Colorado. I had unknowingly stepped out underneath it on my front porch while it was on my roof. The force of air from its one wing flap knocked me down. It screeched an ungodly, prehistoric sound as it glided over me.

seen this bird while hunting in WV in 1977 was 17 years old. At first i seen its shadow and thought it was an small airplane I had just cleared a field on top of a mountain of which I was hunting and was traveling on a logging road I had entered a grove of oak trees on the logging road and was heading down hill when I looked up i was frieghtend out of my wits to see a black bird with a wingspan of 30 to 40 feet long at first it looked like a hawk but really dark blackish brown it was just gliding at about 50 to 70 feet above me as if to be hunting me but it just kept going I have never seen a bird that large ever. I told my family and friends but was laughed at they did not believe me.
